Dr. Jessica Altman received her medical degree from the University of Pittsburgh. She was an intern and resident in medicine at the University of Chicago Residency Program in Medicine, and a fellow in hematology and oncology at Northwestern University Medical School. Dr. Altman also completed a master of science in clinical investigation at Northwestern University. She is currently a Professor in the Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology/Oncology, at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. In addition, Dr. Altman is Director of the Leukemia Program for Northwestern Medicine, Developmental Therapeutics Institute, and Director of the Acute Leukemia Program of the Robert H. Lurie Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Dr. Altman has received board certification from the American Board of Internal Medicine (diplomate in internal medicine), the American Board of Internal Medicine (diplomate in medical oncology), and the American Board of Internal Medicine (diplomate in medical hematology). She is an NCCN Guidelines Panel member for AML and CML. In addition, Dr. Altman is on the editorial board of Leukemia & Lymphoma, a reviewer for Bone Marrow Transplantation, Blood, and Clinical Cancer Research, and an abstract reviewer for the American Society of Hematology (ASH). She has authored/co-authored numerous articles/abstracts on myelodysplastic syndromes (MDS), acute myeloid leukemia (AML), and myeloproliferative neoplasms (MPN).
