Dr. Khoury received his medical degree from the American University of Beirut in Lebanon. He completed his clinical residency (chief resident) in anatomic and clinical pathology at Case Western Reserve University/University Hospitals of Cleveland, and clinical fellowships in surgical pathology and hematopathology at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center. He is an Associate Professor, Department of Hematopathology, and Executive Director, MD Anderson Cancer Network, Division of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center.

Dr. Khoury is a member of the College of American Pathologists, International Academy of Pathology (US and Canada), Society for Hematopathology, Society for Pediatric Pathology, American Association for Cancer Research, Clinical Cytometry Group, Arthur Purdy Stout Society, and the American Society for Hematology. In addition, he is associate editor of Cancer Medicine, is on the editorial board of Journal of Cancer Stem Cell Research, and is a reviewer for Haematologica, Leukemia, Modern Pathology, and Science Signaling. Dr. Khoury’s expertise lies in diagnostic pathology, translational research, and education. He has authored more than 120 publications, two textbooks, and five book chapters. Dr. Khoury is the principal investigator of a funded research program and has trained numerous clinical and research fellows over the course of his practice. He has been an invited lecturer at numerous institutions and conferences across the United States and the world.
